Jan – Mar 2014

Assessment review of PhD programmes (Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering) was conducted.

Surveys for fall 2013 were conducted.

Budget was approved for QEC.

AD (QEC) got training on SPSS and AMOs.

PCEPT was organized for faculty members.

Assessment reviews of PhD (Electrical Engineering and Literature and Linguistics) were completed.

Training of ATs was conducted.

Surveys were conducted and circulated.

July – Sep 2014  

Ranking criteria review meeting was conducted for faculty members.

First Indigenous on Campus training (IOT) was conducted for staff and coordinators.

Director Quality visited Indus University, Karachi for IPE evaluation.

Director Quality visited University of Haripur for IPE evaluation.

Oct – Dec 2014  

Second Indigenous on Campus Training (IOT) was conducted.

ACTIVITIES DONE IN YEAR 2013
Jan – Mar 2013  

Assessment Review of MS (Electrical Engineering) and MS (Mechatronics Engineering) was conducted on 20 and 27 Dec, 2012 respectively but corrective actions on AT findings were taken in Jan 2013.

 Students and faculty member’s surveys were conducted.

Three self-assessment reports on MS programs i.e. MBA, MS (Aerospace Engg.) and MS (Mechatronics) were completed during (Jan-Mar) quarter.

Follow up visit of Mechatronics Engg. & Administration Sciences department was conducted on 8th and 14th March, 2012 to view implementation plan.

Two training sessions were conducted for program team members of seven departments to address the criterias and standards of SAR.

 Students and faculty member’s surveys were conducted.

Three self-assessment reports on MS programs i.e. MBA, MS (Aerospace Engg.) and MS (Mechatronics) were completed during (Jan-Mar) quarter.

Apr – June 2013

QEC team comprising of Advisor Quality and Asstt Director Quality visited Multan on 29 April, 2013 for conduct of training workshop for faculty members and program team members. During the visit, team also verified corrective actions taken on AT finding and survey results.

Teachers evaluation and students course evaluation surveys were conducted at all departments for spring semester Jan-May 2013.The analysis of these survey report were sent to chair department for corrective actions.

Advisor Quality attended one day workshop on QS ranking organized by COMSATS on 2nd May 2013.

Advisor Quality became member of university Academic council, a statutory body during current quarter. 

Advisor Quality attended two days training workshop organized by HEC at Islamabad on third party audit of QEC from 23-24 May 2013 .

 July to Sept 2013  

Quality Enhancement Cell annually publish QEC newsletter, in which all activities and good practices are deliberated. QEC Newsletter 2013 included details of training activities, seminars and Self-Assessment Reports. QEC Newsletter 2013 was published during this quarter. Letter is attached on link.

QEC Organized a Professional Competency Enhancement Program for Teachers (PECPT) at Islamabad Campus in collaboration with HEC, during this quarter. A total of 32 faculty members participated in course. The Clips of activities are attached.

Training was organized for Program team members (PT,s) at Islamabad Campus on quality criteria and IPEs standards on 19th Sept.2013

Advisor Quality visited London UK to attend 03 days Advance training on” Skill Training for External Quality Review” organized by QAA UK

 Four Self-Assessment Reports (SAR,s)were written during this quarter SAR,s of Ph.D Program in (Mechanical &Aerospace Engg),Ph.D in (Avionics Engg), MS in computer Science (Multan campus) and MS in Management Science.

 OCT to DEC 2013  

A team of Institutional Performance Evaluators (nominated by HEC) visited university to assess the processes.

Advisor Quality participated as IPE Review panel for two universities at AJK Muzzafarabad and UET Peshawar

Applied for membership of AQAAIW and for membership of Talloiries Network during this quarter.

University acquired membership of INQAAHE

Survey forms have been automated and made available online. Students Course Evaluation and Teachers Evaluation surveys were conducted at eight departments.

Analysis of survey forms have been done and sent to HODs for corrective action.

First Newsletter of Quality Enhancement Cell is to be uploaded encompassing it’s all activities since establishment at university .

 Follow up visit of Avionics and Mathematics departments were conducted on 20th and 25th Jun, 2012 to view implementation of SAR.

Jul - Sep 2012

Assessment Review of MBA program was conducted at Administration Department at university on 24 Sep,2012.

Assessment Review of BBA program was conducted at Administration Department at Multan Campus on 17 Sep,2012.

 Assessment Review of BS Computer science program was conducted at Administration Department at Multan Campus on 18 Sep,2012.

 Seminars was organized on Latex software for faculty members.

Oct - Dec 2012

A seminar was organised by QEC  on use of turnitin software to identify similarity index in thesis and project reports at university on 29 Oct,2012.Ms mamoona kausar of university was resource person.

One day workshop was conducted on Anti-plagriarim measures at university on 26th Dec 2012, a total of 35 faculty members and post graduate students from university and outside participated,the workshop started at 0915 hrs and finished at 1530 hrs. Resource persons from HEC and university delibrated on plagiarism policies and use of turnitin software. Vice Chancellor AU was chief guest at closing ceremony. ACTIVITIES DONE IN YEAR 2011
Jan – Mar 2011  

Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) was Established at University in July; 2010 but started to function after employment of Human resources in Jan, 2011

Quality Awareness sessions were conducted for University Functional Committee (UFC) and faculty members at each department to create awareness on quality concepts 

Webpage of QEC was designed and relevant data was uploaded for information of all stake holders.

Program team members (PTs) were designated by each department for writing SAR and undertake activities related to Quality.

Training was imparted to PTs on conducted of Self-assessment Report to establish QA System at University and guidelines on Self assessment Report were provided to them.

Quality Assurance policy was formulated with an aim to provide stimulating and innovating environment through learning from best practices locally & internationally.

Quarterly Progress Report (Jan-Mar) 2011 was submitted to HEC and all actions required to be completed during this period were confirmed

Apr – June 2011  

A training workshop was arranged by HEC at regional office Lahore on 27 – 28 Jan 2011 on Procedures to Establish Quality Enhancement Cell and assessment of Reports. (SAR).

First seminar was organized on Quality on 5 May, 2011 for faculty members and graduating students of MBA & BBA at dept of Administrative science . 

Training of program teams at each dept was conducted on SAR, from 2nd May to 23 June 2011 at different departments to refresh their knowledge.

Quarterly progress Report (Apr-Jun) was submitted to HEC and confirmed all actions required to be completed during this period.

Jul– Sep 2011  

Assessment team was formulated at each department for conduct of Assessment reviews

SARs of six programs related to Administrative sciences , Avionics, Computer Sciences, Humanities, Mechatronics and Mechanical Departments were completed along with assessment results and implementation plan.

Membership of Asian Pacific Quality Network (APQN) was acquired during this time.
